Radio Heqiat: Where Heritage Speaks Through Story and Design

Radio Heqiat (“Radio Tale”) is a digital platform dedicated to preserving and celebrating Armenian folktales and legends. The project began with a simple hard drive containing over six thousand recorded stories — each one honoring the dialect and spirit of the province it came from.
Our challenge was to transform this vast collection into an immersive web experience that connects modern listeners, especially those living abroad, to their cultural roots. The website is entirely in Armenian, which made visual storytelling essential to the design.
We drew inspiration from artists like David Hakim and William Saroyan, whose emotional works guided our approach to color, composition, and atmosphere. Through custom illustrations, sound design, and expressive typography, we hoped to create a sense of wonder — and we hope you feel it too!
